Our story begins years ago when we adopted our dog Lexi from a rescue organization in Minnesota. She quickly stole our hearts, and changed our lives forever. We started walking a lot more, often walking a few miles every night with our pup, but vehicles in our neighborhood had difficulty seeing us in unlit areas - especially in the rain and fog. We just needed a way to be more visible! Through some design trials and countless hours of field testing, we eventually created our Rufflect bandana. It features reflective fabric to keep your pup visible while walking, hiking, or camping at night. It’s easy to put on, stylish, durable, and no batteries required!
We love dogs, and believe that every pup deserves safety and style. The possibility that dogs wearing Rufflect bandanas will be more visible to vehicles out there, thus safer from harm, gives true meaning to the work we do. If we help save just one pup, it’s all worth it!
Starting in 2022, we will be donating a percentage of our sales to animal rescue and welfare organizations. We wouldn't have Rufflect Dog Bandanas without Lexi, and we wouldn't have Lexi without rescue. We are forever indebted to the groups and volunteers who do this incredible work.
We are proud of our efforts to be a more earth-friendly business. The environment is especially important to us. Our goal is to make continual changes in our lives that reduce our impact on the planet. The state of our environment is alarming, and can seem overwhelming - but if everyone makes simple, daily changes - we can make a positive impact. That's why it's so important that we make thoughtful decisions about everything we make - and how we make it.
We use repurposed and organic fabrics whenever we can.
Our fabric labels are made from recycled materials.
We chose metal snaps for our bandanas instead of plastic fasteners, because metal more easily decomposes back into the earth.
Our packaging is made from 100% recycled materials, printed with algae ink, and is easily curb-side recyclable.
We make our bandanas here in the Midwest, and source our materials from local businesses whenever possible.
Thanks for visiting,
Catharine, Marwan & Lexi
